One Grandma To Love

If the pastors of church in Kentucky should fall behind in their visitation calls, at least they need no worry about six elderly shut-ins. They’re being well cared for by the elementary age Sunday school children.

Each class – grades one through six – has been assigned one member of the church who is no longer able to attend services. With the help of the Sunday school teacher, the class decides on the projects to be carried out with or for the shut-in assigned to them. Some of the ideas include a birthday party complete with candles, cake, cards and a gift; visits that include some home-made cookies or a fruit basket; flowers taken to the shut-ins to cheer them and cards and letters sent from the entire class throughout the year, as well as special remembrances at holiday time.
