"Bible Squares"

Remember the old TV game "Hollywood Squares?" It’s very easy to adapt the game to a Sunday school game that can help children, youth and adults have an enjoyable time quizzing Bible knowledge, reviewing Bible lessons and learning new information.

The "Hollywood Squares" game is an adaptation of the old "tic-tac-toe" game. To play the game in Sunday school you should have 11 students, although it can be played with less. To start, draw a large "tic-tac-toe" board on a chalkboard. You then write the names of nine students, one in each square on the board. (If you don’t have enough students, you can double them up by assigning students to more than one square.) Two other students are the "contestants" (one "X" and one "O") and the teacher or another student acts as the "MC."

The game starts with one of the "contestants" selecting a "square." Then "MC" then asks the person in that "square" the question. (If he or she doesn’t know the answer, they can "Bluff" an answer.) The "contestant" must then say if that answer was correct or not. If the "contestant" is right, they get their "X" or "O" in that square. The first "contestant" to get three "X’s" or "O’s" in a row (like tic-tac-toe) is the winner.
