It Worked For Us
Crosses On Display
By Carl Ellington
Heres an idea that one of our Sunday school classes started, but soon grew into something that people throughout the church were involved in. The teacher of one of our young adult classes asked the members of her class to fashion a cross out of something ordinary or unusual and bring the cross to class. A number of other classes (children, youth and adults) picked up on the idea and soon we had a large display of these crosses on a large table in our main Sunday school hall. We had crosses made of wire, wood, clothespins, nails, flowers - just about anything imaginable. The crosses were beautiful and very meaningful and it was great to see the creativity of our members. The only restrictions were that the crosses were to be no bigger than 12" tall.
